My favorite TV series of this season / Le mie serie Tv preferite di questa stagione

I follow a lot of TV series, really too much, and I want to discuss with you which TV series I liked most this seasons.
I decided to compile a top 3.
Of course it will not include the seasons still in progress, such as the fourth season of Game of Thrones or the second of Devious Maids.

Seguo moltissime serie tv, troppe, e vorrei tirare insieme a voi le somme di questa stagione che si è appena conclusa.
Ho deciso di stilare una top 3 in cui vi andrò a proporre le tre serie tv che mi sono piaciute di più.
Naturalmente non includerò le stagioni ancora in corso, come ad esempio la quarta stagione del trono di spade o la seconda di devious maids.

Revenge

"Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) comes to the Hamptons and rents a beach house next to the Grayson family mansion for the summer. Emily is really Amanda Clarke, whose father was framed for treason when she was a little girl. After a lengthy trial, he was imprisoned for life, and was murdered in prison by agents of the people who framed him. Amanda was separated from him after his trial and never saw him afterwards. She has now returned to the Hamptons as an adult to get revenge on those who wronged her and her father. Her primary target is Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe), matriarch of the Grayson family, who loved and betrayed Amanda's father. The show focuses on Amanda's plot to destroy every individual who played a role in her father's imprisonment. Along the way, she discovers various facts about her father's past which change her plans many times. As the series progresses, Amanda brings in other individuals as allies for her plan.
As Amanda executes the stages of her elaborate plan, she finds it difficult to remain emotionally detached. She struggles to identify her true motivations and examines how her actions change her sense of identity. I love this series,I was involved from the very first episode of the first season, the character of Emily is characterized perfectly.
After a second season a little flat, the third has shaken a bit all the history, the various storylines were compelling and the season finale has finally revealed something.
I must admit that I found the ending slightly lowered, I had already imagined what would happen and then it actually happened.
I have to say that it has not a plot on which they can be developed many seasons, three seasons could definitely suffice. We'll see how the creators will develop the story, hoping they don't ruin it.

Adoro questa serie, non posso farci nulla. Mi ha preso sin dal primo episodio della prima stagione, il personaggio di Emily è caratterizzato in una maniera perfetta.
Dopo una seconda stagione un po' piatta, questa terza ha scosso un po' tutta la storia, le varie storyline sono state convincenti ed il finale ha finalmente scoperto importanti carte.
Devo ammettere che il finale l'ho trovato lievemente scontato, avevo già immaginato cosa potesse accadere ed effettivamente poi è accaduto.
Per quanto possa amare questa serie devo dire che non è dotata di una trama sui cui possano essere sviluppate molte stagioni, tre stagioni potevano decisamente bastare. Vedremo come continuerà, sperando che non la rovinino allungando il brodo.
 

2 Broke Girls
 

"The series chronicles the lives of two waitresses in their mid twenties: Max Black, the child of a poor working-class mother and an unknown father, and Caroline Channing, who was born rich but is now disgraced and penniless due to her father, Martin Channing, getting caught operating a Bernard Madoff-esque Ponzi scheme. There is nothing to do, this TV series always manages to make me smile.
Although the main plot develops very slowly, 2 Broke Girls is one of those series that I never get tired.
After a second season in which it was developed further the figure of Caroline I have found that in this third was Max the true protagonist.
Of the secondary characters I really like the figure of Sophie, and I would have appreciated that this season was depth of the bond between Sophie and Oleg.

 Non c'è nulla da fare, questa serie tv riesce sempre a farmi sorridere.
Sebbene la trama principale si sviluppi molto lentamente, 2 broke girls è una di quelle serie di cui non mi stanco mai.
Dopo una seconda stagione in cui è stata sviluppata maggiormente la figura di Caroline ho trovato che in questa terza sia stata Max la vera protagonista.
Dei personaggi secondari mi piace molto la figura di Sophie, e avrei gradito che fosse approfondito più il legame tra lei ed Oleg.


Masters Of Sex

I decided to start it only to follow the plot because I was curious about that little but I have to admit that it was a pleasant surprise.
At the level recitative I found that every single character has done a really good job, I found the series very credible.
The topic of sex is explored both from a physical profile, are observed the reactions of the body against a wide variety of stimuli, which under a psychological profile, are analyzed those factors that can influence the sexual act.
Extremely interesting is the credibility that they have managed to give the story in relation to the historical moment in which it is situated.

Ho deciso di iniziarla a seguire soltanto perché la trama mi incuriosiva quel poco ma devo ammettere che è stata una piacevole scoperta.
A livello recitativo ho trovato che ogni singolo personaggio abbia fatto davvero un ottimo lavoro, ho trovato la serie estremamente credibile.
L'argomento del sesso viene approfondito sia sotto un profilo fisico, vengono osservate le reazioni del corpo nei confronti dei più svariati stimoli, che sotto un profilo psicologico, vengono analizzati quei fattori che possono influenzare nel momento dell'atto sessuale.
Estremamente interessante è anche la credibilità che sono riusciti a dare alla storia in relazione al momento storico in cui essa è collocata.
 
 
It was difficult to choose only three television series to propose, without dwelling too much between seasons of the TV series that I most enjoyed this year I suggest watching Downton Abbey, American Horror Story, Once Upon A Time, Girls and person Of Interest.
But there are so many others, especially among those TV series that have already been achieved.

E' stato difficile riuscire a scegliere solo tre serie da proporvi, senza dilungarmi troppo tra le stagioni delle serie tv che mi sono maggiormente piaciute quest'anno posso suggerirvi la visione di Downton Abbey, American Horror Story, Once Upon A Time, Girls e Person Of Interest.
Ma ce ne sono davvero tante altre, soprattutto che si sono già concluse.

I've always wanted to read Sherlock Holmes, but I've never had the opportunity, so long ago when I found on Amazon Tutto Sherlock Holmes at € 0.99 (For English people Sherlock Holmes: The Ultimate Collection ) I couldn't resist. (not that the normal price is less attractive: €2,99 )

Within a single ebook are present:

It seemed to me a great incentive to start reading, plus, searching in the web, I discovered that the edition of the book is not bad even though many complain about the presence of misspellings, when I read all I will tell you better.

Ho sempre voluto leggere Sherlock Holmes ma non ne ho mai avuto l'occasione, così quando tempo fa su Amazon ho trovato in offerta Tutto Sherlock Holmes a 0,99€ non ho saputo resistere. (non che il prezzo normale sia meno allettante: 2,99€)

Mi è sembrato un ottimo incentivo per iniziare a leggerlo, oltretutto, informandomi, ho scoperto che l'edizione non è nemmeno malvagia anche se in molti lamentano la presenza di errori ortografici, quando lo leggerò tutto vi saprò dire meglio. 
 
For now I have started to read the first novel, A Study in Scarlet.
In this novel, through the eyes of Watson, the figure of Holmes is presented.
It all starts with Watson, war veteran, looking for an accommodation in London. Here, through a mutual friend, he is presented with Holmes who is looking for a roommate.
Watson, as the book continues, is increasingly intrigued from the mystery surrounding Sherlock, is also intrigued by the life he leads, his habits and his unusual confidence.
He continues to ask himself one question, it has become like an obsession: "What job does Holmes?" The entire story revolves around the discovery of a body in a London flat, the police did not know how to continue the case, they called Holmes, who has a lot of fame for investigation.
Here begins the story, the reader will be accompanied throughout the investigation, will not be aware of what goes on in the mind of Holmes, the truth will be revealed only at the end.
It will take a long time before Holmes involves Watson in the investigation, which will prove to be an excellent resource.

Per ora ho iniziato a leggere il primo romanzo: Uno studio in rosso. 
In questo romanzo, tramite gli occhi di Watson, viene presentata la figura di Holmes. 
Il tutto si apre con Watson, reduce di guerra, in cerca di un alloggio a Londra. Qui, tramite un amico in comune, gli viene presentato Holmes il quale è in cerca di un coinquilino. 
Watson, man mano che il libro avanza, è sempre più incuriosito dall'aria misteriosa che circonda Sherlock, è inoltre incuriosito dalla vita che egli conduce, dalle abitudini inconsuete e dalla sua riservatezza. 
Continua a porsi una domanda, ormai diventata come un ossessione: "Che lavoro fa Holmes?". 
Tutto il racconto gira intorno al ritrovamento di un corpo in un appartamento londinese, la polizia non sapendo come proseguire il caso, chiama Holmes, il quale è dotato di parecchia fama in ambito investigativo. 
Qui parte la storia, il lettore verrà accompagnato durante tutta l'investigazione, non verrà a conoscenza di ciò che passa nella mente di Holmes, la verità verrà svelata solo alla fine. 
Ne passerà di tempo prima che Holmes coinvolga Watson nell'investigazione, il quale si rivelerà un'ottima risorsa. 

I really liked the combination of Sherlock and Watson, characterized in a completely different way. Watson is the character that represents the view of the reader, through him we can better understand what goes on in the mind of Sherlock.

The book consists of two parts, the first is that of which I have just talked about, while the second says, from the beginning, the events that led to the body that it will be found dead by police in London later.
I loved this division, the second part apparently has nothing to do with the first, the reader will understand slowly what the book is talking about and the connection with the first part of the book.

Mi è piaciuto molto il binomio Sherlock-Watson, caratterizzati in maniera completamente diversa. Watson è quel personaggio che rappresenta la visione del lettore, attraverso lui riusciremo a capire meglio quello che passa nelle mente di Sherlock. 
Il libro è composto da due parti, la prima è quella di cui vi ho appena parlato, mentre la seconda racconta, sin dal principio, le vicende che hanno portato alla morte del corpo che verrà successivamente ritrovato senza vita dalla polizia londinese. 
Ho amato questa divisione, la seconda parte apparentemente non c'entra nulla con la prima, il lettore capirà pian piano di cosa si sta parlando e della connessione con la prima parte del libro.

Questo primo libro mi è piaciuto davvero molto, non pensavo potesse prendermi così tanto e non vedo l'ora di continuare con i successivi. Voi l'avete letto? Cosa ne pensate di Sherlock Holmes?

Trasparent Things / Cose Trasparenti - Nabokov

Piccola biblioteca 360 - Adelphi - € 13,00

"Transparent Things" is the third book I've read by Nabokov,  I have to admit that I loved it from the first row.
The book talks about the life of Hugh Person and his four trips to Switzerland.
Each of these trips is an important moment for Hugh, he has a strong bond with this land.
The first travel during his teenage years with his father, the second when he goes to interview Mr R, the third when madness and murder take over and finally the fourth, which gives him the opportunity to reflect on his past.

“Cose trasparenti” è il terzo libro di Nabokov che ho letto, devo ammettere che l’ho amato sin dalla prima riga.
Il libro racconta la vita di Hugh Person e dei suoi quattro viaggi in svizzera.
Ognuno di questi viaggi rappresenta un momento importante per Hugh, ha un forte legame con questa terra.
Il primo fatto durante la sua adolescenza accompagnato dal padre, il secondo quando va ad intervistare Mr R, il terzo dove la pazzia e l’omicidio prendono il sopravvento ed infine il quarto, che gli offre la possibilità di riflettere sul suo passato.

The book is an intersection of informations that go to link together as you get towards the end, I personally did not find it boring at all, I really like the style of Nabokov.
I found the figure of Mr. R interesting, he is writer, which is accused of "fiddling with minors", as if Nabokov wanted to answer throught Mr. R on the same allegations that were made after the release of Lolita.
In addition, the Italian version of the book has been translated from Nabokov's son.

Il libro è un incrocio di informazioni che vanno a legarsi man mano si arriva verso la fine, personalmente non l’ho trovato per niente noioso,  mi piace davvero molto lo stile di Nabokov.
Ho trovato interessante la figura di mr. R, autore di libri, che viene accusato di “trastullarsi con i minori”, è come se Nabokov avesse voluto rispondere tramite Mr. R alle stesse accuse che gli vennero fatte dopo l’uscita di Lolita.
Inoltre la versione italiana del libro è stata tradotta dallo stesso figlio di Nabokov.

A brilliant book, very detailed, smooth, really enjoyable to read.
Nabokov not disappointed me yet, although I must admit that Lolita is still my favorite.

Un libro geniale, curato nei minimi dettagli, scorrevole, davvero piacevole da leggere.
Nabokov non mi ha ancora deluso, anche se devo ammettere che Lolita resta ancora il mio preferito.

Which film I must have in my dvd library? #1

The other day, I was buying a dvd on Amazon, I come up with a question: “Which film I must have in my dvd library?”.
I decided to write this post to share three (for this first post) films I can’t live without.
I tried to pick different genres, in this first post, I decided to talk about a musical, an animated film and a drama.
 
L'altro giorno, comprando un dvd su amazon, mi è sorta una semplice domanda: Quali film non posso fare a meno di avere nella mia cineteca?
Ho deciso così di scrivere questo post elencando tre (per questo primo appuntamento) film che non posso fare a meno di avere.
Ho cercato di selezionarne di genere diversi, in questo primo "appuntamento" infatti ho preso in considerazione un musical, un film d'animazione ed uno drammatico.

1- The Rocky Horror Picture Show


I must admit musicals are my favorite kind of film, but this one in particular is the one I can’t get tired off.
We all know the plot,inspired by the homonymous musical theater to which they add “picture” to justify the film transposition.
It was broadcast in the midnight theaters where, it wasn’t successful in a first time, immediately after a wave a people, with a fishnet stockings and wings, crowded this little cinemas pretending to be the actors.
You can  breathe from the first minute the irony against the horror of the time, topics like homosexuality (Transsexuals were regarded as monsters)  and sex are the main subjects of the musical.
Definitely worth seeing if you have not already done so.

Premetto che il Musical è uno dei miei generi preferiti, devo ammettere che questo è l'unico che non mi stanco mai di vedere, potrei vederlo anche in loop per tutta la giornata.
La trama la sappiamo tutti,  ispirato dall'omonimo musical teatrale in cui viene aggiunto "Picture" per giustificarne la trasposizione su pellicola.
Viene proposto nei cinema di mezzanotte americani dove, nei primi tempi,non riscuote alcun successo, infatti subito dopo un'esplosione di folla munita di calze a rete e parrucche affolla questi piccoli cinema cercando di imitare i protagonisti di questo irriverente musical.
Un evidente ironia nei confronti del genere horror del tempo si respira sin dal primo minuto, argomenti come l'omosessualità (I transessuali venivano considerati mostri) e il sesso sono il minimo comune denominatore di tutta l'opera.
Sicuramente da vedere se non l'avete ancora fatto.
PS: Non è stato doppiato in italiano, Inglese + Sottotitoli, essendo un musical se ne risente davvero poco.

2- Nightmare before Christmas

Jack Skeletron (The prince of halloween’s world) , bored out of his routine of scares and screams, he decided to start distributing the joy of Christmas, however, hampering the work of Santa Claus
A masterpiece by Tim Burton, whose peculiarity list in the use of stop - motion, the puppets are move by the team, frame by frame.

Non c'è davvero nulla da dire qui, chi non l'ha mai visto dovrebbe vergognarsi e correre subito a rimediare.
Jack Skeletron (Il principe del mondo di halloween) , annoiato dalla sua solita routine fatta di spaventi e grida, decide di iniziare a distribuire la gioia del Natale ostacolando però il lavoro di Babbo Natale.
Un capolavoro di Tim Burton la cui particolarità sta nell'utilizzo del stop - motion, cioè vengono utilizzati dei pupazzi mossi a mano dagli animatori, fotogramma per fotogramma.

3- Lolita (1962)


A classic born from the brilliant mind of Kubrick inspired by Nabokov’s novel.
When I mention this film, I don’t want to hear talk about the Adrian Lyne’s remake (1997), I’ve heard that some people don’t consider a 1962 film in black and white worth seeing,I personally don’t consider necessary the presence of color when the film doesn’t requires it.

A very topical film, even if shot more than 50 years ago, the sick love of a fifty man to a girl, a man who marries the mother in order to be close to her daughter.

Un classico partorito dalla geniale mente di Kubrick ispirato dall'omonimo romanzo di Nabokov.
Quando menziono questo film non voglio sentire parlare del suo remake del 1997 diretto da Adrian Lyne,  ho sentito gente che non considera un film del 1962 in bianco e nero degno di essere visto, personalmente non considero necessaria la presenza del colore quando il film non è un genere che la richiede.
Un film attualissimo anche se girato più di 50 anni fa, l'amore quasi malato di un cinquantenne verso una ragazza, ossessionato dal desiderio di starle accanto il professor Humbert arriva anche al punto di sposare la madre.
Da vedere assolutamente in versione originale!

And yet another blog that I open, usually after several weeks, I get bored and stop to write. Not promising anything, I'll try to keep constantly updating this project which, while not dealing with a specific topic, I hope that will be interesting.
It will be a sort of diary (pass me the term) where I will talk about everything that goes through my mind, from a book, TV series, movies to a recipe, project or experience.
I do not want to say too much, if you follow me you will understand something about me.
My name is Alessandro, I'm 19 years old, I'm Italian and I live a normal life, full of ups and downs, like everyone else.
In this small space I'll put everything I will share with someone to discuss, learn new things, but above all to confront the others ideas that each of you will take on the most diffenrent topics.
I know that to be the first post it doesn't provide much informations, but introduce my self has always has been like this.

E' l'ennesimo blog che apro,  solitamente, dopo svariate settimane, mi stufo e smetto di scriverci. Non promettendo nulla, cercherò di mantenere in costante aggiornamento quest'ultimo progetto che, pur non trattando di uno specifico argomento, spero che risulterà interessante.
Sarà una sorta di diario (concedetemi il termine) dove parlerò di ogni cosa che mi passa per la mente, da un libro, serie tv, film ad una ricetta,progetto od esperienza.
Il primo post di un nuovo blog è solitamente caratterizzato da una presentazione della persona che vi andrà a scriverci, non voglio dilungarmi troppo, se mi seguirete potrete capire qualcosa su di me.
Mi chiamo Alessandro, ho 19 anni e vivo una vita normale, fatta di alti e bassi, come quella di tutti.
In questo piccolo spazio metterò tutto quello che mi andrà di condividere con qualcuno, per discutere, imparare nuove cose ma soprattutto per confrontarmi con le altre idee che ognuno di voi avrà su i più disparati argomenti.
